One Year!

Today we took Jake to the pediatrician for his one year appointment. He appears to be developing right on track and won over all the nurses and doctors with his smile! We had been worried at the last visit about his chronic cough and possible asthma, but after taking him to Yale Children's Hospital for a second opinion, we learned that he has a condition of the airways that would cause his cough. It is a condition that he should outgrow as the membranes of the airways gets stronger. So, we feel optimistic that we are now heading in a good direction. The doctor at the hospital is going to continue to follow him to make sure we aren't missing anything, but for now he seems to be doing well!
Jake seems to be leveling off now with is weight, although to look at him he still looks like a big boy! Maybe that's just because Samantha is such a peanut! Here are Jake's stats:

Height: 30.25 inches/75th percentile (as point of reference, Samantha was 33 inches at her 2 year)
Weight: 22 pounds 5 ounces/50th percentile (Samantha was 24 lbs 6 oz at 2 years)
Head: 50th percentile

Our boy is growing big and strong! We made the switch to whole milk, so now our fridge is full of whole and 1%! The doctor asked today if we've thought about weening Jake from the bottle and said we really should try to do it by 15 months. I think that's right about when Samantha cut out bottles all together. Seems crazy that in such a short time we could be bottle free!
Today Jake had to get 2 immunizations and Samantha had to get one as well because at one of her last appointments there had been a shortage of vaccines, and now they had them in stock. Jake got his shots first, and up until that time Samantha was excited to be at the doctor's and even asking when it was her turn with the doctor. After Jake's shots she started to say "my all done doctors; my go home now." I told her it was now her turn to which she said "NO!" Everyone did get their shots, and no one seemed to be too worse for wear. Nothing a Dora the Explorer sticker on the way out couldn't fix!
