As we take new photos of Samantha and Jake, I can't help myself from looking back over old photos of Samantha, comparing them to Jake's photos of the same age. This picture of Jake (at 7 months) prompted me to go looking for the next picture of Samantha (at 4 months).
Today Samantha is 21 months, and continues to astound us with her language. These days we are being ordered to "sit" and if she wants to show us something, she says "show me" since that is what we ask her to do when we do not understand what she is saying. Today she looked at Jake and said "Jake has boogie". Sure enough he had a big boogie in his nose! It seems like Sammy is able to repeat nearly everything we say. Yesterday Chris was claiming how much something sucks, and our little parrot immediately said "sucks". Looks like we won't be saying that word around the kids. All we need is for our child to be the one playing in a group going "this sucks". This reminds me of the day that I said the word "crap" in front of my mom. I immediately slapped my hand over my mouth and looked at her thinking I was going to be in trouble. She said she was sure I've heard much worse words, and not to worry about it. I am pretty sure I was something like 13, but still mortified that I "swore" in front of my mom!
Samantha has been perfecting a look that says "look at me; I am doing something that I probably should not being doing, but I look cute doing it, so I am getting away with it". Sammy is also quick to make her desires known. She specifically asks to watch something either on the tv or on the "puter" and she knows exactly what she doesn't want to eat and there is no getting her to eat something if she says no!
