Family Fun Days

Chris is between contracts right now, so we are feeling very fortunate to have some more time with him at home. He is still doing some work with his online classes during the day, but we've been trying to schedule in some Family Fun time during the week as well. Last week we took the kids to the aquarium and had a fun time running around looking at all the fish.

Yesterday we thought we had a brilliant plan to take the kids bowling. We were so sure that Samantha would love rolling the balls down the lanes. This was our first mistake. We went to a local bowling place that wasn't really a specific bowling alley, but rather had a handful of lanes within a larger sports complex. That was our second mistake. The lanes and pins were not standard bowling or even candlepin bowling, but the balls were a size that Samantha was able to pick up and roll herself. Samantha rolled a couple of balls down the lane, but in the end, Chris and I ended up alternating bowling through the frames and chasing Samantha around the place. After we finished up bowling, we ended up leaving carrying a screaming child because she did not want to leave the water fountain that she found in the hallway!
